We are pleased to announce our 53rd annual reunion to be held at the Double Tree by Hilton Jacksonville. The reunion dates are September 5th to September 10th, 2023. To make your hotel reservations please call the Hotel directly when the Hotel reservation window opens in early 2024.  

    The Double Tree Hotel is about 20 minutes from the Jacksonville Florida International Airport. The airport code is JAX for your reference. There is NO hotel shuttle service to and from the airport. You must call a taxi, Uber or Lyft ride share service.
             
    The Reunion Brat will be facilitating this year’s reunion. They will be providing REGISTRATION tracking and tour/event assistance. Dan Genet is our Reunion coordinator for this reunion and will provide all the necessary details in the forthcoming Reunion Issue this spring.
           
    The USS ESSEX Association is planning a “Welcoming Party” and possibly a specialty night as well.  We will also host a “FAREWELL Dinner” to conclude the weeks festivities. The Essex Association will defray part of all meal costs.

     There are many things to do in the Jacksonville area, some of the area attractions are St. Augustine, St Johns town center, Vystar Veterans Memorial and Mayport Naval Station. There are also many public art sites, electric bike tours of Amelia Island and half-day downtown tours available. Our reunion coordinator will certainly cover a number of tours and attractions to make your stay a wonderful experience.

    Please join a group tour or venture out on your own and enjoy the sights. This hotel is in very close proximity to many restaurants as well as a short walk to the riverfront water taxi to enjoy a ride on the ferry.
